It is no longer news that the Nigerian Telecom Operators have requested that all bulk SMS users get their sender IDs registered. Here are 5 reasons why you need to register your Sender ID(s).

• IDENTIFICATION: Once you register your sender ID for your messages, it becomes your identity on the bulk SMS platform. As such, you get ownership of the sender ID and you get an identity in bulk SMS service.

• PROTECTION: With the high level of scamming through text messages by SMS phishing, malware and social hacking, and the way the operators are frowning at it, registering your sender ID with them goes a long way to protect you. With your ID registered, you become recognized as a legal bulk SMS user and as such messages sent under your name will not get you into trouble.

• SMS DELIVERY TO DND NUMBERS: The blacklisting of phone numbers on DND has been responsible for many instances of failed delivery of SMS to some phone numbers. With your sender ID registered, that is taken care of. You can now send SMS to phone numbers on DND and get them delivered.

• SENDER ID CUSTOMIZATION: With your sender ID registered, the cases of messages delivering with default sender IDs like INFINITI, INFO, and NVERIFY e.t.c. will be bygones. You will be able to get your SMS delivered with your unique sender IDs.

• BECOME A CORPORATE ENTITY: Once your sender ID gets registered, you become recognized as a corporate body by the telecom operators. This will go a long way in easing up further transactions and bulk SMS business in the future.
